Institut Paoli-Calmettes is the Regional Cancer Center of Marseilles

L’Institut Paoli-Calmettes is a comprehensive cancer center governed by the Public Health legal code; it is a public service in cancerology.

Its missions are as follows:

  • Cancer prevention and screening
  • Cancer research in all diagnosis and therapeutic aspects
  • Patient care from the diagnosis and clinical points of view throughout their therapeutic protocol (surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy) and according to the most suitable logistic (complete hospitalization, hospital day care, home care)
  • Education and training in cancerology.


Institut Paoli-Calmettes is a hospitalo-universitary structure, affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine (a large proportion of our physicians are also University Professors), with Aix-Marseille University, INSERM and CNRS ; Institut Paoli-Calmettes hosts Aix-Marseille University, INSERM and CNRS research teams.

Institut Paoli-Calmettes also has a mandate to take part in information and prevention campaigns aimed at the general public.

Status:

Comprenhensive Cancer Center: private not-for-profit organization with a public health mission in cancerology (article reference numbers L6162-1 to 11 of the public health legal code).
