Marco Ciufolini, Professor of Chemistry at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, arrived in Marseille at the beginning of September for a 10-month internship at the Cancer Research Center of Marseille (CRCM) in Dr. Xavier Morelli's and Dr. Patrice Dubreuil's laboratories. This internship is co-funded by the Paoli-Calmettes Institute (IPC) and the IMéRA Foundation (Institute of Advanced Mediterranean Exploratory Interdisciplinary Studies) of the University of Aix-Marseille. This collaboration aims to develop small molecules that modulate the activity of an enzyme involved in many cancers, that could eventually be used for therapeutic purposes. The project is carried out at CRCM's premises at the Faculty of Pharmacy in Marseille and is supported by SATT-Sud Est and Cancéropôle PACA.
